Most schools will have an International Student Center within the campus. Visit the center to familiarize yourself with all of the resources available to help you make your transition over to an American school go as smoothly as possible. Youâll also find this to be a great way for you to meet other international students who can relate to what you are experiencing.
See an advisor in person
Once you get where youâre going for school, make an appointment to sit down with an international student advisor for the university. Advisors can share with you what to expect out of campus life. They can help you figure out what kind of clubs you might be interested in trying and even tell you a bit about the city or town youâll be living in for the next few years.
Get out and about
Youâre a college student in a whole new land. Get out and explore the neighborhood around you. Go find some fun places to hang out and meet people.
